We know that baptism is where our sins are washed away and we receive the gift of salvation. But there is so much more that happens in the water. We are brought into the family of God and have a new group of people we belong to. We have the divisions and prejudices of the world removed. We receive the gift of the Holy Spirit which begins to shape and transform us into the image of our Creator. Ultimately, Jesus died on the cross for us, and baptism is where we publicly declare that we are willing to give our life for Jesus Christ, sharing in his death and resurrection.

Worship is about more than singing to God. Worship is anytime and anyway that you show God your adoration. Further, worship brings us into God's presence and fills us with God's Spirit. Certainly such an experience should transform us. Finally, when Jesus entered Jerusalem his followers praised him as the Messiah, finally arriving. The Pharisees told Jesus to silence them but he declared that if they were quiet the rocks would cry out and praise him. Today, Christians should never be silent and give their place of praise God to rocks.

The word of God is active and alive, it provides a mirror that shows us what God sees in us, how reading God's word can help us follow his commands, and how if we don't have God's Word in our lives we can't produce great fruit.
